Episode 1 - UIM XCAT Powerboat World Championship

Welcome to the first episode of Gearing Up for 2022. The most exciting event in powerboating and one of the most thrilling competitions in the world of sports is here for the second, highly-anticipated and decisive round of 2021’s World Championship. Dubai is not only one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, but also a favorite stop for the high-octane UIM XCAT World Championship; a no-brainer for the final act of the season! Seeing the Legends of Dubai Police at the top of the standings did not come as a surprise. It was the consistent and super-fast Team Abu Dhabi 5 with Rashed Al Tayer and Majed Al-Mansoori that took the first spot on the podium, having put the throttle to the max throughout the entire race.

The World Title, though, ended up in the hands of the Legends: Arif Al Zaffain and Nadir Ben Hendi from Dubai Police. Once again, these exceptional drivers made plain why they are often considered two of the most venerable pilots in powerboat racing. Despite having been placed in last position in Pole Position, they made a comeback for the ages taking the second spot on the podium for the race and bringing their world crown home!
